Parallels Desktop 13 runs Windows and other operating systems in a virtual machine alongside your Mac apps. It's a good option for those who still rely on certain Windows apps for their business, or gamers who can't live without a favorite Windows game. I thought about this Mouse behaviour bug on Wildstar whilst running in Parallels Desktop for Mac Started by Jamiee, Jun 08 2014 08:12 AM parallels mac mouse bug. ![]() ![]() Parallels Desktop v6 has developed an annoying habit of disappearing whenever iCal or Mail (and maybe some others) is opened. The Parallels window slides off the bottom of the screen whenever one of those apps is unminimized, and it stays there until its icon in the Dock is clicked. Do that and Parallels pops back up, and the other app, iCal or Mail, minimizes. So if I am doing something in the OS in the Parallels VM and want, say, to check my calendar, I cannot have both Parallels and iCal windows open at the same time. It didn't used to do this, but I can't say for certain whether it started with a Parallels upgrade, with Snow Leopard, or something else. If there is a Preference to change this behavior I can't find it. Click to expand. Is it visibly sliding off the screen, or shrinking down into the Dock? If it is sliding off the screen, then that is due to how you have configured Spaces (on Mac OS X 10.6) or Mission Control (on Mac OS X 10.7). Sliding off the screen is how I would describe my iTunes behaving, which I've tied to a particular Space in 10.6. System Preferences > Spaces is how you manage this in 10.6. Don't have a Lion system handy to confirm the deatils for 10.7, but I think it is all done through the Mission Control user interface. The whole Parallels window translates down off the bottom edge; that is, it retains its shape as it goes down. I just confirmed that behavior, and discovered that in this sequence of events: open Parallels, open iCal, click on Parallels icon, the Parallels window slides upward from the bottom while the iCal window does not minimize to the Dock, it slides up and off of the top edge of the screen. Download parallels for mac lion. If I then click on the iCal icon, Parallels again slides down and iCal comes down from where it was hiding. This seems pretty clearly to be non-standard OS X behavior, so it must originate in Parallels.
